How to Use There, Their and They're Have you ever been confused with the meaning and the use of "there", "their" and "they're"? If so, don't panic, in this video Teacher Mark will explain the difference between them and how to properly use each of them. SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIa_yBoivC9j9rydlYBqMTA?sub_confirmation=1 FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/learnenglishwithteachermark TRANSCRIPTION: Hi guys, I'm teacher Mark. There are three words that my students have problems with, these three words here THERE, THEIR, THEY'RE they sound very similar and very easy to confuse them if you have problems keep watching because I’m about to give you some useful information to help you tell the difference Right then guys, let's start by talking about THERE. When we use there, we are talking about location So, in this example, I'm going to get help from my friend T.Chair, Tony Chair, T.Chair. He's going to help me explain this so if you look at what teacher is saying, the book is over there, so he is pointing to a location, so the location that's why we're going to use THERE, the book is over there. Right, so next up we're going to talk about THEIR. So we use their when we're talking about possession something that belongs to another person in this case we use a plural when we're talking about more than one person's possession so once again T.Chair is going to help us with this. T.Chair what are you saying? T.Chair has a ball and he's pointing to a group of people and he's telling us this is their ball so the ball belongs to these people and they possess it Ok, finally we're going to talk about they're, they're it's two words that have been contracted. They're which are 'they' and 'are', they are, and basically we use this when we're talking about a group of objects or a group of people or anything for example, let's look at Tony Chair. Once again T.Chair is pointing to these guys over here and saying they're not nice people so I agree with him they look quite evil. If you look at them, one of them has a baseball bat one of them is shaking his fist and the other one has a knife these are really not nice people. I agree with Tony, Tony I agree, but man, don't point at these Guys you better run, because they look like they're going to beat you up, you know. So run dude, run. oh no! Tony, is being chased by the bad guys. Let's look at this sentence. T.Chair stayed THERE, THERE, as in location, he stayed THERE too long and now THEY'RE, they are, so the group, THEY'RE chasing him with THEIR weapons, THEIR, as in, THIER possessions, the weapons they possess. So T.Chair stayed THERE too long and now THEY'RE chasing him with THEIR weapons. I hope he's okay. Anyhow, I hope you guys are ok as well. And I hope you learnt to tell the difference between, THERE, THEIR and THEY'RE. and I will see you in my next video. Take care guys, please subscribe. More

Use the preposition: On: If you are allowed to stand up while the vehicle is in motion. In: If you must sit down while the vehicle is moving. *For motorbikes you use the preposition 'On'. Because you can stand up while in motion. Note: this is a basic explanation, there will be exceptions to this rule, but it will help you in most cases. SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIa_... FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/learnenglish... TRANSCRIPT: Teacher Mark here again. Um, I'm just returning from my classes and I'm waiting in the train station and whilst I was waiting here just occurred to me that a lot of students have issues of prepositions when it comes to public transportation am I in a train or am on a train for example ok well here's a little quick bit of easy advice for you so the first thing we're going to say is can you legally stand up on that vehicle whilst it's in motion so for example when you're on a train can you stand up on it while it's moving are you allowed to the answer is yes what about a plane yes you can do it on there what about a car no you cannot stand up on a car whilst it's in motion well it's against the law you're not allowed to you can try so if the answer is yes that you are allowed to stand up on it whilst it's in motion then you're going to use the preposition on so you will be on a train you will be on a bus you'll be on an airplane but on the other hand if you can't then the preposition will be in so you will be in a car you'll be in a van I hope that helps you guys when it comes to figuring out which preposition to use and until next time take care and I'll see you then. Confused whether you should be using 'bring' or 'take' in a sentence? Don't worry, I have met a lot of students who ask me what is the difference? This quick video tutorial will help you to understand the difference between the two words, with a simple and amusing explanation from teacher Mark and his friend, T.Chair. SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIa_... FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/learnenglish... TRANSCRIPT: I'm teacher Mark. Today I'm going to talk to you about BRING Vs TAKE. So, if you get confused with these I'm going to give you a nice simple explanation so please, stay tuned. Before we begin, I'm just going to introduce you to my friend, my friend, Tony chair. Ok, Tony Chair likes to be called, T.Chair. Get it? No, ahh, forget it. Anyhow, we're going to continue in a minute now. Ok, so let's first look at bring. Generally, people bring things to you. So let's have our friend help us with this. So T.Chair has got his friend and he's asking his friend could you BRING me that book, the book on the table and his friend is saying. Yeah okay, I'll do that. So, he's going to collect the book and he's going to bring it to teacher. Ok so now we're going to talk about take. Ok so now let's talk about take generally people take things from you to another person or to another location so let's have a look at that with our friend T.Chair and his friend. So, T.Chair is asking his friend could you take this book back to the table and his friend is going crazy because he is like, well you just asked me to bring it to you. But because they're friends, he's going to do it for T.Chair. So, could you take this back to the table could you return it to the table. Ok, so guys, now we are going to do a little exercise a little quiz. I want you to tell me which of the two words you're going to use are you going to use bring, or are you going to use take? Ok guys so here is the quiz. We've got four questions and you need to fill in the gaps, the spaces, with either bring or take. So the first one, something me the newspaper. I can something you home after the party. I would like you to something this book to William and Audry is going to something her camera into work tomorrow. So, I'm going to give you some time, I'm going to give you a couple of seconds maybe a minute and I'm going to come back and see if you got them right or wrong. Ok guys, welcome back let's see how you did. So BRING or TAKE? Let's look at number one so the newspaper is somewhere else and i want to read it, so do we bring or take the newspaper? In this case it's going to bring me the newspaper because I'm going to ask someone else to bring it to me Ok, so number two. What about this one? I can something you home after the party. BRING or TAKE? Were you confused with this one? Well you should be, because the answer is both you can have bring or take with this one, depending on your location so this can be bring or take. So if I am already talking when I'm in my house, or in this person's house. I can say I can BRING you home after the party because I'm bringing you back to the location we are talking about, we are talking from. I can TAKE if we are talking for example if I'm at the party, with my friend. I can say, I can take you home after the party. So, TAKE if I'm at the party or a different location. We're going to use BRING if I am at that person's address. Ok, number three, I would like you to, hmmm, something this book to William. Do you take or bring a book to William? Well this one is going to be TAKE, because I am giving you the book and I'm saying can you take this book to William? A person over there. So I would like you to take this book to William. And the last one. Audry, and by the way, this name is not spelt incorrectly. it's my wife's name, so for those of you out there who think there should be an 'e' in here, for normal spelling of Audrey, yes, but in my wife's spelling it's like this okay? Just making sure your aware. Ok, so Audry is going to something her camera into work tomorrow so is it BRING or TAKE? Is this one another confusing one? Ohh, yes, this one also, like this, can be BRING or TAKE depending on your location. So we're going to put it in here, bring, take. So, location in this case, if I am in work, I can say, Audry is going to bring her camera into work tomorrow because I in work and that's the location the cameras coming to, but if I'm a different location, then Audry is going to take her camera into work tomorrow. So, I hope that helped you guys and I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did, please subscribe and I look forward to seeing you in one of my next videos. Take care guys, Bye bye. More
